ZK/U sees its residency as a space where artists and practitioners come together to learn from each others’ perspectives and practices. Applicants should be aware that participating at ZK/U means living together and working with fellow residents, team members, artists, partners, and collaborators from various fields of disciplines and origins. To remain a diverse platform for urban experimentation, it is important to us that applicants inform themselves about our Policy of Respect which can be found here: https://www.zku-berlin.org/policy-of-respect/
One vital part of residency life at ZK/U is the residency kitchen. The shared kitchen acts as a communal space that welcomes engagement and exchange among program participants. With our weekly format MONDAY DINNER, residents are invited to present their projects to the current residency community (once per residency), and take turns cooking in pairs for the residency community (once per month).

(max. 300 words) We kindly encourage you to reflect that you will be living among twelve or more people, as well as sharing and caring for the kitchen space with others. We would be interested to hear about your general experiences with living with others, and whether you would be open to cooking a simple (or elaborate!) meal with another resident for a group of 15 people.
